COLLECTIVE DESIGN: BUCHAREST
A. TOMECI
This film follows the story of the (often) anonymous/ignored voices of Bucharest. If the city can be thought of as an organism, then I believe that graffiti lets us see a process of contemplation - the subconscious thoughts of a collective mind.
The billboards analysed in this film represent a framed, organised and highly volatile snapshot of people's needs, musings and ability to collaborate. Their appearance mirrors the reality of Bucharest's mosaic.
Even though it takes place in the underground, the process I am describing does not try to conceal itself. It comprises of objects that are subjected to daily adaptation and scrutiny, moving through time until they can no longer exist.
Thank you for tuning in!
